Chamber orchestra and choir conducted by Pyotr Yanovsky

The chamber orchestra and choir led by Pyotr Yanovsky is an ensemble established in 2025. Its membership comprises top students and postgraduate students from the Moscow Conservatory and other leading arts institutions in the capital, alongside renowned Russian instrumental soloists. Leading artists from Moscow theater companies also participate in the ensemble's concert programs. The musicians’ debut garnered significant artistic acclaim—specifically, a new concert-theater version of Igor Stravinsky’s *The Soldier’s Tale* featuring an exclusive Russian libretto adaptation by A. Basov. The ensemble has also presented numerous Russian premieres—milestones in the country's musical life—of symphonic, choral, and chamber-orchestra scores by P. Hindemith, O. Respighi, G. Fauré, O. Messiaen, and Mozart’s early sacred works for choir and organ, among others. A key priority for the ensemble is performing orchestral music from the school of N. Myaskovsky, as well as the choral and chamber-orchestral heritage of major European masters. The group maintains a fruitful collaboration with "Terra Musica," the international creative workshop led by Moscow Conservatory Professor Yuri Abdokov (Russia–Germany–Italy).

The ensemble’s leader and conductor, Pyotr Yanovsky, is a native Muscovite. Born on June 25, 2005, he has been closely connected from a young age not only to music but also to the worlds of theater and cinema. As a child actor, he appeared in numerous theatrical productions (including at the Mayakovsky Academic Drama Theater in Moscow) and films, working alongside distinguished actors, screenwriters, and directors. From the age of eight, he studied at the renowned Sveshnikov Choral College (V.S. Popov Academy of Choral Art), graduating in 2024 as a choral conductor. Since 2025, he has been a student at the Moscow Conservatory, pursuing studies in two specializations: opera and symphony conducting (class of Associate Professor Felix Korobov) and composition (class of Professor Yuri Abdokov). He is a prize-winner at international and national competitions, a winner of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation’s "Young Talents of Russia" competition, a recipient of the V.S. Popov Prize, and a holder of a grant from the President of the Russian Federation.
